Today
I hear a thousand voices aired
“Woman are equal, woman are free!”
Today
I read a thousand words written
“Women can do it, women are strong!”
Today
I see a thousand photos printed
“Women are fighters, women are tough!”
But
Every day
I catch a thousand sighs put out
“I cannot do it, my child is unwell”
Every day
I observe a thousand wrongs accomplished
“I have no food, the money is tight”
Every day
I watch a thousand crimes committed
“I am without help, justice’s not mine”
I do not want a Woman’s Day,
this ephemeral clamour of yearly uproar
365 Equality Days is what we need
not only to do, but mainly to be.

ALRIGHT—YOU GO, GIRLS!
Profound and so accurate. Nicely written. If only.
Thank you! Yes, if only!
